The Resveralife Mandala Yoga Mat should be on every yogis must have list. I’ve been using this particular yoga mat for about three months now and I am pleased to see that it has been holding up quite better than any previous yoga mats I’ve owned. I do yoga about 2-3 times per week and I’m notorious for using it to stretch in the mornings or before bed amongst many other things. Usually by now my old mats would show signs of wear and tear but not this one. I’ve done everything exactly the same as I have with other mats but this one seems to be made with quality materials and with the everyday yogi in mind.

Not only does it have a beautiful mandala placed right in the middle to help find your center, but it also provides users with a non-slip surface along with many other features that are usually overlooked by the everyday shopper.

Aside from the delightful mandala design that brings me oh so much joy, the Resveralife Mandala Yoga Mat offers users the following characteristics:

1. No Chemical Odor

Unlike many other mats I’ve purchased, this mat didn’t have that overbearing chemical odor aka that “new mat smell”. It did have a slight rubbery scent but that quickly went away after I left it out for a few hours. By the time I took it to class that night the slight rubbery smell had completely went away.

2. 3mm Thickness

This mat is not as squishy as other mats I’ve used in the past but it’s the perfect thickness for holding poses properly and effectively. For me, the thickness is a huge plus. Anything more than the 3mm and I would have trouble balancing doing certain positions.

3. Length

When looking for a yoga mat many people look for the thickness and design first and foremost, but for me, the length is as equally important as the thickness. This mat is 24″ x 69″ which is perfect for someone my height. At 5’4” I’m not completely hanging off the mat when I’m laying down or limited to staying within my mat for a warrior pose. While its not quite a 5’4” mat I do feel better using this mat than shorter ones that cut off at my knee. Another reason why I love this length is that I find I feel more free with the room this mat provides. Because I hate stepping out of the mat during class, this specific characteristic adds bonus points in my book.

4. Texture & Design

Since the mat is made from microfiber and natural rubber, it can be used for hot yoga, Bikram, Pilates or plain general exercise. The microber allows for the mat to quickly dry when in use and doesn’t allow for a slippery surface which is important while holding a pose. Another benefit of having microfiber instead of plastic on the surface of the mat is that the beautiful design doesn’t peel off after a while of use or after it has been washed.

5. Machine Washable

This is very important to me. One of the many reasons why I chose to purchase a yoga mat of my own was for hygiene purposes. I hated going to my yoga class and not fully knowing if and when they cleaned their mats. Knowing I can machine wash my own gives me a huge piece of mind. I’ve owned mats that I could only wipe down because they were all rubber or started falling apart after a wash but this mat seems to stay intact despite a few washes. Now, that doesn’t mean you can wash it everyday so be weary.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I’m loving my Resveralife Mandala mat. I’m super happy with my purchase and all the mats handy and stylish features. It’s proven to be more sturdy than previously owned mats, there’s no odor and the length and thickness are just perfect. Huge, huge plus that I can machine wash at home and the texture and design are to die for. With characteristics like that you would think this mat would be $100+ but the price point for this beauty is average compared to cheaper quality, less durable rubber mats.
